Try Rugby Day
We had another successful Try Rugby Day in September and welcomed a new batch of athletes ready to experience the thrill of rugby and the amazing community we’re building together. The ball wrestling this time was particularly competitive and everyone was cheering on the challengers. We also had more men at the clinic than previously and that trend has continued at Fall practices which have been just about evenly split between women+ and men+ player numbers. We’re excited to see the club growing in all directions!
If you’re thinking about trying rugby, you’re always welcome to join us for practice on Tuesday or Thursday nights. From now through November 10th we’ll be practicing 7:30pm-9pm at Mary Webb in central El Paso. No practice on November 8th (see next section). We’re open to all genders and are especially working to bolster our women+ side numbers as we prepare for our first competitive season in the Spring.
Go Out and Vote
We believe it is important to exercise your right to vote and there are important elections coming up in Texas. In fact, we’ll be taking off the day from practice to give everyone extra time to get their votes in on Tuesday, November 8th.
October 11th is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming Texas elections. There are always changes in registration and sometimes your registration can get wiped out without notice. Click HERE to see if you’re registered already and click HERE to register as a new voter. Get out there and have your voice heard El Paso!
Friends and Family Cookout
You’re invited to our Friends and Family Cookout on Sunday, October 23rd at Memorial Park. We’ll be grilling and playing some games with the kiddos. Kicking off at noon. This will be potluck style so send us an email if you’re planning to bring something to share with the group (play@elpasorugby.com). Cheers!
